£25 Top up goes awry
Today I had one more example as to why one should NEVER get a contract mobile phone unless someone else is paying for it.
On Tuesday I ‘topped up’ my Three SIM with £25 credit. I then immediately ‘converted’ it into an All-In_One top up as I have done many times before (except with the lower £15 top up). My £25 all-in-one should have given me 500 minutes, 3,000 texts and All-You-Can-Eat data allowance for the phone.
Today I ran out of credit. How come? Because my conversion had not gone through; or rather it told me it had - I distinctly remember “Your All-In-One has been applied” - but had not ‘gone through’ or been processed. Hence just two days later and after a few minutes of calls at 50p a minute or whatever the usual rate is and internet usage chewing up the £, my credit was just 5p.
The usual call to India resolved nothing.
I’m sorry, Sir, I can see that you normally convert to an All-In-One but on this occasion you did not
Er, but yes I did. Managers ‘on their way to lunch’ resolved nothing
There’s nothing we can do as you have used up all your credit.
Of course they could have recognised the error and done something.
This is not the first run-in with Three. They are an innovative company and indeed broke with the pack offering truly unlimited data for phones but never ever ever EVER get a contract with these people.
I have had experience of two previous contracts and will never do do again. One was for a dongle that didn’t work in my postcode for 3 months; endless phone calls and shenanigans from Three I have journaled elsewhere meant I was paying for nothing - an internet dongle that provided no internet. It was probably a mast issue that they eventually fixed but they lied about everything; sending out an engineer, fixing the dongle itself (twice), settings on my laptop, etc etc etc .
The beauty about PAYG is that they get to rip you off. Once. And then you can go elsewhere.
Why would anyone want to saddle themselves with 24 months of financial commitment with such a shaky company (I get atrocious Three coverage in my house). Vodafone are another comapany which has proven itself to be totally untrustworthy when it comes to CON-tracts.

Living off the land - how much land do you need?
First Garden Harvest
Yesterday I had a small harvest of Contender snap beans or green beans as some know them.

Some were small and thin as you can tell from the photo.

Though some were thick and long. These are about the average length between 6” & 6 1/2” long.
The taste left me a bit disappointed when I took a sample bite ,raw from one of the tips. So I boiled them in a pan of water and taste was mediocre at best. Off to the spice rack I went and collected organic seas salt, fresh organic basil, and minced organic garlic. Added the 3 ingredients to the pot, let simmer for 15 minutes on low heat.
Taste was improved dramatically!
It seems this variety of bean benefits from seasoning as compared to non-seasoning. While taste is nothing to scream about, this variety of bean is productive and early with good yields from the harvest.
I’d recommend this variety for dishes that call for snap beans/green beans.

A Tale of Two Threes
[caption id=”attachment_942” align=”aligncenter” width=”530” caption=”Three would be shocked to find that its own network only offers 500Mb then…”]
[/caption]
Here is an example of those networks …
[caption id=”attachment_943” align=”aligncenter” width=”498” caption=”Three has recently increased the cost of one day/500Mb by 50% to £3”]
[/caption]
OK - fair enough, this 500Mb cap is for one day’s (£3) usage but this new heavily promoted ‘all you can eat plan’ was not available on the menu options when I went to top up my phone armed with a £15 topup voucher today. Only a variety of £5 and £10 topups with text topups (which, let’s face facts. is a tiny tiny amount of date for the network to send).
As usual with Three, it’s as clear as mud.

E.U. Bans Herbal Remedy’s (Not Surprised)
After 824,870 of people all over the world signed a petition on Avaaz to not outlaw herbal remedies the E.U. banned them anyway. It’s getting to be well beyond the point that those that hold governmental positions, and policy making, pay no mind to people they ‘protect’ and ‘serve’. Another example of corruption on a mega scale when a massive ‘government’ like the E.U. panders to the multi-nationals.
Ian R Crane has spoken numerous times on the implementation of Codex and had done a very well researched document back in 2007. Before the ban on herbal remedy’s by the false sovereignty called the E.U. Ian R. Crane warned that once Europe folded under the Codex agenda the U.S. will fold under it . Those in the U.S. had better start thinking about either fighting this on a political level or fight it on a grey market level. As for I, I will be hoarding all the herbal information and associated plants I can get my hands on.
While ‘they’ can’t admit the dangerous and deadly side effects of manufactured drugs, they can shift the blame to herbs. (Ironic isn’t it ?)
Either you take a stand of having your own cognitive choice of the matter, or you allow multi-nationals to do it for you. One must ask them self who has your best interest at hand. Governments who brown nose multi-nationals, Or you ? Let’s take another look at how well ‘government’ makes choices for you when it comes to your safety and health. If you think your health is in the best interest of ‘government’, have a gander at this. Ironically the new dangled government health care law passed by Obomba doesn’t even begin to deal with or protect anyone from this.
Healthcare reform starts with you, a sole person with your own choice un-influenced by the multinational Big Pharma, Big Ag, and Mega ‘governments like E.U. , U.S., U.N, W.H.O. or the W.T.O.
Either you live free or you die a serf.

Three mobile broadband prices up by 50%
[caption id=”attachment_924” align=”aligncenter” width=”622” caption=”Have Three's mobile broadband got 50% better?”]
[/caption]
Three have suddenly started charging £3 for 500Mb - a 50% increase from the previous £2. Has the service got 50% better? 50% faster perhaps? Sadly no. Three’s broadband has not improved one jot in the three years I have been using it. One thing Three are very good at is telling customers and potential customers that they are just on the cusp of some huge improvement. They have been ‘upgrading’ their network eve since I first started using them for business and personal use.
I don’t ‘do’ contracts with Three anymore ever since the network became unusable for 2 or 3 months 2 years ago and they prevaricated and bullshitted their way through by claiming the dongle needed fixing etc. Problems with a mobile phone contract also exposed worrying relationship between the Three stores and the main company.
A 50% increase for a service that never improves is pretty outrageous.
